Macsima continues to deliver projects across different mediums. Being a specialist layout designer, Macsima is able to apply these skills to both digital and print based designs. Alignment and hierarchy of information is important in Macsima's design thinking. A website design is approached in the same way as a brochure design in terms of layout enabling the end user to scan and pick out key pieces of information. With a digital medium there is much more opportunity for interaction. With this in mind, Macsima will strive to embody layering and 3D elements in keeping with the brand.
On approaching projects as a brochure designer, corporate literature designer or print designer, Macsima believes that the presentation of a client's material is enhanced by giving breathing space and subtle hints to guide the eye. Readers need to have space and clarity in order to look at a piece of marketing and actually intake the information being presented. Carefully selected paper and the finishes to a design are crucial in completing the final artwork. Macsima has a long standing relationship with Furnival Press Printers who have over 40 years experience in the industry and are always available for consultation.
On initially meeting a client Macsima loves to understand their business first and/or the individual project requirements. The client may wish to appear corporate yet have some quirkiness, may wish to exude fun and boldness or may wish to appear fresh, clean and modern. Macsima will document these qualities by
taking the client through a design questionnaire picking out key qualities and features the client envisages the final product to have or say. Words and phrases used in achieving a client's brand or objectives to create a desired image will be translated by Macsima to concept and ultimately through to design. With larger design projects Macsima will create a mood board with a set of ideas mapping out how the design will be approached. This enables both the client and Macsima to have a clear vision during the project. It also gives the client another insight into an important stage of the project. As an example if a
client approached Macsima to build an e-commerce website, the stages of the project would include:
1. Introductory meeting with the client
2. Design Questionnaire
3. Mood Board
4. Initial Design Concepts
5. Design Progress Meeting
6. Developed Design Solution
7. Comments and Final amendments to Design
Feel free to call Macsima to discuss your requirements or just to start a conversation. We are always excited and open to meet new people and be part of new and brilliant projects. |
